Rosie Horvat

I have been training with Scott from XOSIZE since April 2006 and in that time have completely turned my fitness around from doing NO exercise to becoming a picture of fitness. I have turned into a weight lifting "Arnie", have lost enormous amounts of body fat not to mention cm's, have changed my diet and approach to eating, have competed in many fun runs, have completed a Half Marathon and recently completed my first Full Marathon...these achievements for someone who has never really run before are HUGE achievements. Could I have achieved these fitness goals off my own bat without the help of my trainer  - Not a chance. Scott is a hard taskmaster who has pushed me and then pushed me some more to get the results that I want.  At times he offers no sympathy (although we all know he is a softy at heart). I have gotten used to sayings like "Rambo never felt any pain”! Working with a trainer at XOSIZE has helped me re-jig my lifestyle, made exercise one of the top priorities in my life and helped me set future goals.  Scott is always supportive and helps me set realistic goals and then designs a training plan to help me get there. I don’t know where I would be without XOSIZE.

Gillian Kennedy

5 months ago I contacted Scott as a last resort - I was unfit and out-of-shape and found it hard to get into exercising - something I've done on and off over the years but have never been able to keep up for an extended period of time. Scott at XOSIZE worked out a programme suited to my specific needs and goals and keeps adding to it as I progress and to keep it interesting.
Now, instead of something I should do, my training sessions are something I look forward to. It’s fun, and most importantly, I’m feeling healthier and fitter.  I've even started running! Something I have never been able to do. Scott accepts my little idiosyncrasies with patience and good humour. Although I still have some way to go in achieving my goals, I am stronger, fitter and in the best shape I have ever been! Exercising is now a very enjoyable part of my life and I cannot imagine my life without it!.

My husband and I joined XOsize through a corporate health promotion offered by one of our employers incentivising its staff to get fit.  We both had let our fitness slip over the years, letting the balance between work hours and exercise slide.  Geraldine our trainer has wasted no time in challenging us both week after week.    Just when we think we  have mastered a hill or done an unthinkable amount of sit-ups, she inspires us to the next level to push ourselves and achieve more.  We have affectionately dubbed her "Slavemaster" and have trained with her for approximately 4 months now.  Our fitness has improved and we have lost a number of cms and kilos between the two of us.  We are stronger and pay more attention to eating healthily to compliment our exercise regime.  Exercise is simply a part of our lives and is something we look forward to doing with her.  Geraldine's encouragement and quiet confidence helped us to complete our first mini fun run.  Though our corporate promotion has long finished, we have continued training as the benefits to our long term health simply outweigh the costs. 

Trudi Hay

I had been with my personal trainer for over 12 months and then broke my ankle skiing, so was unable to do any physical activity for a while. After my physiotherapist gave me the green light to start working out again, I decided to use another personal trainer who one of our staff was already using. After the first visit I was very impressed with his follow-up, the workout and the extra things that Scott did, such as send other excises to do, eating tips and a monitor plan via email. Scott also rang my physiotherapist and has provided me with a swimming belt to help strengthen my ankle and leg. Each visit works on improving your strength and cardio and I have started to notice major differences already.

His passion for health and fitness is evident without being overbearing and importantly he gets results - quickly. Brooke has gone from not being able to run 1km, to setting goals of running her first marathon in 12 months and her first ‘Ironman’ in 18 months – a grueling challenge indeed! “I have been training with Scott from

XOSIZE for the last 4 months. In that time, I have started to see significant improvement in my fitness levels and really look forward to training twice a week with him.Scott is able to tailor challenging and interesting workouts to suit the individual,either indoors or outside. Whilst I’m not really very fit (compared to a ‘real’ triathlete), or genuinely competitive and certainly not naturally talented! Scott has helped me to launch my ‘triathlon career!’ I have started competing in ‘mini triathlons’ designed for beginners. This really suits my ‘goal oriented’ personality as it gives me targets to aim towards. Scott has helped me from both the fitness perspective as well as with skills and techniques in the three disciplines of swimming, running and cycling.

The absolute best thing about training with Scott is that as long as you are trying and giving 100% (and he knows when you’re not!) there is absolutely no judgment from Scott. You can be as slow as…. well…me! As long as you are giving your best, Scott will encourage and support you and help you to improve. Scott has also been readily available for extra training/ dietary advice and support via email and has answered all of my questions no matter how silly. Whilst doing triathlons and triathlon training may not be for everyone, I have also been a part of training groups that Scott runs that are more tailored to general fitness and have found them to be really fun and interesting as well. He ensures that you see continuous and measurable improvement which is great for motivation to keep going! …Oh and he won’t make you crawl on the ground like they do at some boot camps…ever! (He promised!)”
